Here's a quick look at the Olympic news featuring competitors from where we live from Tuesday's action.

Wolverhampton's Mayor Christine Mills has offered her congratulations to Olympics bronze medal-winning gymnast Kristian Thomas.

He won the medal as part of the men's team final yesterday.

The 23-year old started gymnastics at the age of 5 and has been competing since he was 8.

Shropshire's Gemma Howell was disqualified in the first round of the Olympics judo this morning.

The 22-year old lost in the under 63 kilos category to world champion Gevrise Emane from France.

Kidderminster's Naomi Folkard couldn't make it through to the last 16 of the women's individual archery at the Olympics this morning.

The 28-year old was knocked out by the higher-ranked Mexican Mariana Avitia 6-2.

Wolverhampton-born sailor Alison Young has had a good start to her Olympic career at Weymouth and Portland.

She's in 9th place after her first day of Games competition.
