Body of a teenage boy pulled from a lake

One man has died after a serious road traffic incident near Patshull Park Hotel, Burnhill Green, South Staffordshire.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to the location at shortly before 12.30am on Monday morning to reports of a silver Peugeot 306 having left the road, gone through a hedge and entered The Great Pool, which is a lake near the hotel.

An ambulance, a paramedic officer, a BASICS doctor, the Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) and the Severn Area Rescue Association (SARA) were dispatched to the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: "On arrival the crews found the driver of the car, an 18 year old man and a 15 year old woman passenger had managed to get out of the vehicle.

"They were treated at the scene by ambulance crews before being released. They did not require hospital treatment.

"A third person - a 16-year-old man - was reported missing.  Members of the HART team joined SARA and other emergency services in a search of the lake.

"Tragically, the third person was found this evening by police divers.”
