Two injured in car crash

Man and woman taken to hospital

A man and a woman are being treated after their car overturned in Shropshire yesterday evening.

It happened near the junction of the A458 and Wenlock Road, High town at around 9.45pm.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: "Crews arrived to find a car that had overturned.

"A 64 year old man was treated at the scene for a suspected head injury. His condition was stabilised and he was transferred by ambulance to Royal Shrewsbury Hospital for further treatment.

"A 58 year old woman who was also travelling in the car was trapped in the vehicle for around 45 minutes. She received emergency treatment whilst being removed from the vehicle.

"The womans condition was stabilised and she was also treated for serious hand injuries before she was transferred to the same hospital by ambulance for further treatment.

"The hospital had been pre alerted to the patients arrival and their injuries.”
