He has been left with a misspelled tattoo after actress pal Saoirse Ronan wrote the wrong word on him.
The Oscar-nominated star, 23, scribbled Galway Grill on Ed’s arm instead of the title of his hit single Galway Girl.
Atonement star Saoirse appears in the video for the single, which was shot in Galway, Ireland, last week.
Ed, 26, said: “When we were filming it I meant to get a tattoo of her handwriting saying Galway Girl from her point of view.
“It actually says Galway Grill. G-R-I-L-L. She really took the p**s out of me — full on.”
Superstar Ed made his admission on the first night of the UK leg of his world tour in Glasgow on Sunday.
He said: “I haven’t actually told anyone that yet.
“I’m actually quite proud of her. It’s the kind of thing I would do.”
The Thinking Out Loud singer is a tattoo fanatic and has more than 60, marking memorable moments in his life and career.
They include a Heinz ketchup logo and a teddy bear as a nod to his childhood nickname Teddy.
He also has a lion on his chest to mark his 2015 sell-out gigs at Wembley Stadium.
Galway Girl has enjoyed huge success, peaking at No2 in the UK.
It is currently No3 — with another Ed song, Shape of You, at No2.
