Wolves V Huddersfield Match Report

Following another International break, Wolves looked to grab a crucial win in Sunday afternoons premier league fixture at home against Huddersfield.

Coming out of the International break and following on from a draw at Arsenal, Wolves entered the game with confidence at Molinuex.

Aaron Mooy put Huddersfield in the lead just six minutes into the game with an accurate first time effort beyond Patricio. Meanwhile Wolves keep pushing with a number of attempts on goal heading towards half time. Patrico once again plays an important role saving a header towards goal by Steve Mounie following a corner.  Huddersfield started the first half strong and finish it strong. A final corner is taken before the whistle is blown and is cleared leaving Wolves 0-1 down at half time.

With a tough 45 minutes ahead, Wolves look to re gain control of the game with two changes for the team, Morgan Gibbs-White and Adama Traore replacing Joao Moutinho and Ivan Cavaleiro.

As the half wore on, Traore bursts down the right wing, he chips a cross towards the back post from the byline where Jimenez sees a headed effort cleared off the line! Wolves within a whisker of getting an equaliser.

As the game takes it toll on both sides, a yellow card is issued to the opposition giving Wolves a free kick delivered by Neves which clears the goal leading to a corner, Wolves up their pace.

With just 20 minutes remaining, Wolves still find themselves one goal down to Huddersfield,  Costa releases Jimenez into the box, he shoots from a narrow angle but misses over under pressure.

Approaching the final 15 minutes of the second half, Aaron Mooy gets his second of the game as he curls a low free-kick around the wall and inside the near post. The second blow to Wolves then leads to Nuno making a late change, Helder Costa is replaced by Diogo Jota.

Three minutes of added time is given as Huddersfield close down on a shattered Wolves team.

Neves has one last opportunity to score after being awarded a free kick which clears the goal before the final whistle is blown.

A disappointing defeat for Wolves as a goal in either half from Aaron Mooy secures all three points for Huddersfield.
