Two arrests made following fatal stabbing in Wolverhampton

Paulius Petrasiunas, aged 24, was attacked with a machete in Chervil Rise in the Heath Town area of the city on Monday, (13 July) at around 5:20pm.

A 20-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently in custody.

A 47-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and is also in custody for questioning.

Detective Inspector Jim Mahon, from our homicide team, said: “These arrests are a significant as our investigation continues.

“This was a shocking attack and is another tragic example of the dangers of knife crime.

“A young man has lost his life and my thoughts are with his family and friends at this very sad time.

“I’m still urging anyone with any information about what happened to talk to us if they haven’t already."
